Valerian Tincture Valeriana officinalis
Valerian
Botanical Name: Valeriana officinalis
Valerian is an herb commonly known for its sedative effect, helping with insomnia and developing restful sleep patterns, though Valerian does a lot more than just that! Valerian is also an antispasmodic, helping to soothe skeletal and smooth muscle cramping (can also help with menstrual cramping), and is an anodyne, helping to reduce pain in the body, and helps to recover from headaches and migraines. As an anodyne and antispasmodic, it also helps to reduce rheumatic, joint, and muscle pain. This herb is a carminative, helping to reduce gas and bloating, and is an anti-anxiety as well.
Valerian helps support the digestive system, helping those with IBS, nervous digestive issues, and intestinal colic. Valerian can help those with high blood pressure and can help reduce nervous heart issues.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation.
Suggested Use:
Shake well. Take 1-3 mL (dropperfuls), 2-3 times a day, or as needed.
Those who are sensitive to the taste of herbal extracts, I recommend adding the dosage to a tablespoon or so of water or juice.
