Bee Balm Tincture Monarda fistulosa
Bee Balm
Botanical Name: Monarda fistulosa
Bee Balm is a special plant, one that calls to all sorts of pollinating friends and hummingbirds. We're lucky to have a giant bushel of it here in our garden!
Bee Balm helps to reduce symptoms of head colds and/flu, boosting the immune system, and has a special affinity for the upper respiratory tract. As a digestive, it helps reduce bloating, gas, nausea, and indigestion. Bee Balm can help to reduce menstrual cramping, digestive tightness, and spasmodic coughs. Bee balm calms the nervous system and helps calm anxiety and stress.
Externally Bee balm has been used to help take care of scrapes, stings, and rashes. Bee balm has also been used topically for headaches & spasms, and to reduce bleeding. As a mouthwash, Bee balm can help soothe sore throats, & toothaches.
Suggested Use:
Shake well. Take 1-3 mL (dropperfuls), 2-3 times a day.
Those who are sensitive to the taste of herbal extracts, I recommend adding the dosage to a tablespoon or so of water or juice.
